Pics of Carly at 4 months

I thought this was a cute shot of her doing tummy time...

These are her official "four monthday" pics...
She has such a great big gummy smile, but it's hard to catch it with the camera.  Here is a partial one...

I'm not sure if you can tell by this photo just how long she really is...

She really likes to be sitting up right now, so that she can see what is going on.
Here's a cute shot of Addy playing footsies with her sister.
Just too cute!
When Carly plays on her activity mat, she loves to prop her feet up on the bars over her head.  Once her feet are in place, she just plays and plays.

A few videos...

Here are a few more cute videos of the girls...

Music Time

Addy loves music.  She loves to listen, dance, and sing to it.  She even likes to make music of her own.  She has acquired several  instruments thus far, so sometimes we all sit down and play together.  Carly is also happy to be in the middle of it all.  Here are a couple of videos of family music time in our house.

Addy would like to thank Papa for sending her the latest in her collection of instruments...a wonderful recorder (or flute, as she likes to call it) that she loves to play, as would her parents.  We'll be sure to bring it to the cabin in a few weeks so you can hear the magnificent sounds it makes!!!  Here is a little preview of what's in store.

I would also like to add a little story about Addyson.  I've often said that I was a much safer driver before I had children, because I am now constantly tending to one of them, which can cause anyone to lose focus.  However, all of that is changing, because Addyson has now started to critique my driving habits.  We were riding along the other day and Addy calls out from the back seat, "Mommy two hands!"  At first, I wasn't sure what she was telling me (as that could mean any number of things), but after some pointing and repeated attempts, I realized she was telling me to put both hands on the steering wheel!!!  But that wasn't where it ended...she then proceeded to tell me that they needed to be "at the top".  So now it's become a game...two hands mommy, one hand mommy, up top mommy, at the bottom mommy...you can see where I'm going with this...  So I play along, and it keeps her occupied at least for a few seconds!

Misc. pics and videos

This is our precious Carly in her first dress (minus the Christmas pics).  Isn't she an angel...
I just thought this was too cute!
Addyson loves to go into our 'hat cabinet', drag all of the hats out, and try them all on.  She has trouble getting them on in the proper position (with the bill facing forward), so they either end up like this, or backwards.

I'd like to thank who ever came up with the idea of these "animal blankets", because both of our girls have enjoyed them, but Carly is particularly attached to this one.

It's blog week...stay tuned!

So we are a little behind on our blog posts...hopefully over the next couple of days, we'll show you what's been going on over the last month!

I am finding, as I upload material to the computer to post, that most of the pics these days are of Carly (who is immobile) and the videos are of Addyson (who is not).  It's hard to get good pics of Addy these days, since she seems to be constantly moving!

We've had such nice weather recently, that I forgot that we had snow just a few weeks ago.  Here are a few cute videos of Addy and Jeff playing/working outside in the snow.

Meanwhile, mommy and Carly stayed inside where it was warm.

Carly is 4 months old

Carly turned 4 months old last Friday.  We took her for her 4 month checkup yesterday and all went well (except of course the shots).  We were surprised to find out that she weighs 14 lbs (50th percentile) and that she is 27 inches long (off the charts!!!)  So the Dr. said it was time to start the solid foods!  Here are some pics of Carly getting to taste some rice cereal for the first time.  In the first pic, I feel like she was saying, "mommy, why are you doing this to me!"  But she did get some down and as you can see in the last pic, she had a good time!

We also got the jumper-oo out for her this week.  She didn't do much 'jumping', but she did enjoy exploring all of the cool stuff...  Of course, that was AFTER her big sister gave her a lesson in how everything worked.  Honestly...I think Carly would rather sit and watch Addy, than play with the toys on the jumper-oo.

No, boys only

Jeff, Addy, Carly and I were enjoying some music time this week...meaning Addy pulled out all of her instruments and passed them around, for us to take turns playing.  One of her instruments includes a small drum 'with princesses on the sides'.  That information is important, because at some point, I got the drum from Jeff and started playing it.  Addy stopped what she was doing, walked over and took the drum from me and said, "NO!, boys only".  Who knows where she picked up that piece of information!!!  Anyway, I thought it was worth sharing...
